Hi everyone, I’m back with my second make for Country View Crafts monthly challenge with the theme Squares.
I chose to come back in January as my last module for the Masters Degree in illustration was due to be handed in on December 12th but I had to ask for an extension as life got in the way, it was a very difficult year and Covid made it worse. However, I’m on track to finish on my new date, so watch this space.
So my project is another card.
My new love is foil! you will see it cropping up in many of my coming makes. I invested in several ways to produce foil, Spellbinders hot for system, We R Memory Keepers Quill system and even purchased a foil attachment for my Cricut Maker. I have many plans using foil this year, but more of that another time.
so this started with my squares. (which I forgot to photograph on their own) but you can just see below.
I discovered this technique by mistake on another project. I was using a cardboard box as a spray box and had sprayed something with Dina Wakley's Gloss sprays and used this card to mop up the surplus. inadvertently I changed the direction with the second colour creating these wobbly squares. I loved the affect and have preserved the box for future use. I decided to use it for the background.
Choosing several colour foils for contrast, I used the Foiled Brushstrokes and Stripes Glimmer Hot Foil Plate Effortless Greetings By Laurie Willison which is one of my favourite plates.
My sentiment is again a foil plate "Make Today Count" Glimmer Hot Foil Plate from Spellbinders which I foiled onto Tim Holtz Sparkle paper which I mounted onto black card. I then added some flowers "Glimmering Layered Flowers" Glimmer Hot Foil Plate & Die Set again from Spellbinders.
Lets take a last look
Thanks for stopping by and i'll see you again soon.
