Happy New Year

Hello everyone, let’s hope this new year is brighter than the last and that we can all be safe. Today I start back with Country View Crafts with my two monthly posts and here’s my first

The theme is you have to use squares somewhere, and mine are in the background as well as some of the front elements.

My background was created by spraying distress oxides onto an old cardboard box and then mopping up onto my watercolour card, turning the card each time to form tiny squares. I then heat dried the card. With a gold acrylic pen I then drew lines diagonally and vertically to form larger square.

I die cut 7 inch squares on my Cricut maker, but felt they were too large for what I wanted so cut them down to 3.5 inched. I first stuck then stapled the squares together and arranged 3 aligned centrally onto the background card.

Using Foamiran I hand cut 3 flowers and leaves, and assembled the flowers using different stamen in the centre. To colour the flowers I used oil pastels wiped onto the petals and leaves with a baby wipe.

The sentiment was foiled using Spellbinders glimmer foiling system and then die cut. I hope I’ve inspired you to create this month, and look forward to seeing later in the month.

take care care everyone and stay safe.
